Inattention: to Threat and to Efficacy

Please see the description of Attention, Inattention, Awareness, and Neglect on previous page – Attention to Threat and to Efficacy.

In the examples used throughout here, Inattention is used for the Pursuit of Pleasure functions.  The following three functions model Pursuit of Pleasure functions.  For form one, Inattentional Units are used instead of Attentional Units.  For forms two and three, Neglect is divided by Awareness.  Like the Avoidance of Pain function, the error only applies if the Doubling-Time of Attention is considered to be a constant value for forms two and three.

Form One with Exponential Growth and No Error for the Doubling-Time of Inattention

Form One: The number of Inattentional Units (a whole number) devoted to a particular feature makes up the level of Inattention.

Form Two with Exponential Growth and Error for the Doubling-Time of Inattention

Form Two: Neglect divided by Awareness yields an Inattention level in this set up. Neglect plus Awareness always equals one.

Form Three with Valuation Resilience

Form Three: Neglect divided by Awareness yields an Inattention level in this set up. Neglect plus Awareness always equals one.
